 Learning Aim C - Proposal 

Title: Revenge 

Genre: The Genre of my short film will be Crime/Drama. 

Logline: When a young boy walking home from school gets targeted and stabbed by a feared gang member the boy’s older brother (a police detective) must track down the gang member and bring him to justice and to prevent the gang member from hurting anymore people. 

Narrative Overview: The start of my script will begin with AJ walking home from school after getting off the bus at Wandsworth Town Hall, He will then walk home by going through the shortcut street that he normally goes on to get home quickly which is called Barchard Street  Characters: Kano (The gang member), Kano is a vicious and feared gang member by those who live in South London. He stays on the streets to recruit young people into his gang as they are the easiest to target.  

AJ (The Boy) is an innocent young boy who gets stabbed by Kano (A gang member) when he is walking home from school. He also has an older brother named Jamie who is a police detective that finds out that Kano stabbed him. 

Jamie (The older brother of AJ and a police detective) finds out that Kano has stabbed his little brother, so he takes on the case personally to bring Kano to justice. 

Film Treatment: The use of locations will mostly be exterior at places but there will also be some interior places. The costumes that the characters would be wearing: Kano would wear streetwear like a tracksuit with a hoodie and a puffer jacket but he wouldn’t wear it zipped up, for AJ he would wear a school uniform and for Jamie he would wear plain clothes so for example a t-shirt or shirt with trousers and a trench-coat. The props that would be used would be things like a knife that Kano uses to stab AJ and a gun that Jamie has. In terms of editing there will be transitions such as                               

Film Purpose: 

Target Audience: The target audience for my short film is set at the age of 15+. This is because the film includes violence, strong language, drugs and dangerous behavior. I have rated my film a 15+ because it would be too violent for anyone below the age of 15 to watch and because it doesn’t have things in it such as mature language for the ages below 15. The location this takes place in is in South London.  

Legal and Ethical Consideration: The Legal considerations that will be in my script consist of Watershed and Obscenity Law. Watershed is any content after 9pm containing sex, violence, etc., can be shown however, before 9pm they must be censored. Obscenity Law is some material that is deemed “obscene” and therefore not appropriate for release. This could be for sexual content, or whether the film encourages dangerous or criminal behavior. There will be no Ethical considerations in my script.
